Utah
is the one of the most rigorous exams in the country. The
candidate must have an extensive knowledge of mortgage industry,
including program guidelines, qualifying mathematics, and the loan
process. In addition, the candidate must have detailed knowledge
of the Utah Mortgage Lending Law. Even seasoned mortgage
originators report difficulties passing this exam.
The
state requires 20 hours of pre-licensing continuing education.
While the test information is covered in the class, many of the topics
are not covered in detail.
